Microsoft Fabric consulting that survives production

Microsoft Fabric demos beautifully and breaks quietly. I take operations off spreadsheets and tired SQL Servers onto a Fabric lakehouse that still performs in week three of production — when the data is real and messy. Thirty years of enterprise data behind every decision, and you deal directly with me.

What I do on Fabric

Lakehouse and medallion (bronze/silver/gold) design, OneLake structure, Direct Lake semantic models tuned to avoid silent DirectQuery fallback, incremental refresh and partitioning, capacity planning that accounts for smoothing, and migrations from SQL Server, Synapse or spreadsheet sprawl onto Fabric — with Power BI reporting on top that managers actually trust.

The mistakes I am paid to prevent

Direct Lake quietly falling back to DirectQuery as tables grow; one capacity doing ingestion, transformation and reporting at once, so morning dashboards absorb the night batch; medallion layers treated as folders instead of contracts; and no incremental refresh, so the pipeline reloads all of history every night. I have written about these in detail on the blog — they are real, expensive, and avoidable.

How an engagement runs

Discovery call, then a written scope: target architecture, migration plan, milestones and what success looks like. I build it, document it, and leave you with something your team can run. Most engagements start from around €3,000.

Frequently asked questions

What does a Microsoft Fabric consultant actually do?

Designs the data foundation — lakehouse, medallion layers, semantic model — so a business can ask questions of its data reliably and affordably, then builds the reporting on top and makes sure it holds up under real load. I do all of that hands-on, not as a slide deck.

Can you migrate us from Synapse or SQL Server to Fabric?

Yes. I plan the migration around your real workloads, move it in controlled steps, and run old and new in parallel where the data is business-critical so nothing breaks during cut-over.

Do you also build the Power BI reports?

Yes — Fabric and Power BI are one engagement for me. The lakehouse exists to feed reports people trust, so I deliver both.
